BeaconRelief™, developed by RTI International, improves situational awareness for disaster response by providing auto-generated maps and real-time tracking capability in a self-contained, highly scalable, ruggedized, low-cost platform. BeaconRelief™ offers preconfigured sensors for ease of deployment and a user-friendly interface that allows relief workers to quickly and easily adapt it to all-hazard environments with minimal effort.
 

Olutindo is a short message service (SMS)-based service request system that provides citizens and local government (LG) officials with a tool to submit, track, and respond to citizen requests. 

RTI International will present Tangerine:Class at the UNESCO Mobile Learning Week in Paris, France, February 18-22.  The UNESCO Mobile Learning Week seeks to address how mobile technologies can be used to further the Education For All (EFA), specifically looking at:

  • the role of mobile learning in increasing adult and childhood literacy;
  • how mobile technology can improve quality of education (including supporting teachers); and
  • exploring mobile learning to improve gender equality in education.  

RTI International is helping to expand a wireless security system project in San Salvador’s metropolitan area. The system uses cellular wireless technology to improve the real-time collection and sharing of criminal information, with the aim of reducing crime.
