Referrals

Forms may have fields - usually the disposition field - that can trigger referrals. Examples:

• Problem or labour visit
• Postnatal Infant Visit
• Infant Problem/Postnatal Visit
• Maternal Problem/Postnatal Visit
• Maternal Discharge Summary
• Puerperium
• Observations for Latent Phase of 1st Stage of Labour

Active referrals appear in the Referral listing:

Referrals are stored in the outcomes table. The id for the referring clinic is referral_site_id. Note that site_id is updated when UTH admits the patient.

Reasons for referrals are stored in the referral_reasons table. These fields come from the "Diagnosis" section of the referring forms. When you add a new field to this section in any of the aforementioned forms, be sure to add a corresponding field to the referral_reasons table.
