The EMIS Toolbox is an open source, data-mining tool that aggregates and presents data from Annual School Census (ASC) databases that was specifically designed to visually identify trends and outliers. Complex data can be easily viewed and analyzed through charts that compare indicators by geographic or administrative group and over time using standard reports, for example using school or district indicators.

RTI International will present Tangerine:Class at the UNESCO Mobile Learning Week in Paris, France, February 18-22. The UNESCO Mobile Learning Week seeks to address how mobile technologies can be used to further the Education For All (EFA), specifically looking at:

the role of mobile learning in increasing adult and childhood literacy;
how mobile technology can improve quality of education (including supporting teachers); and
exploring mobile learning to improve gender equality in education.

Following the discussion, RTI will provide a hands-on demonstration of Tangerine™, an open-source data collection software developed by RTI using internal funds.
